Pupil Voice

According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child:

“Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters
affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously. This right
applies at all times…”

UNCRC, Article 12

At Frogston, hearing and understanding children’s views has always been central to our ethos and, as we begin our journey towards becoming a recognised Rights Respecting School, we hope to embrace every opportunity to seriously consider every child’s views about every aspect of the life of our school.

We have already established:

  • Primary 7 House Captains and Vice Captains
  • Digital Leaders
  • Pupil Council, with representatives from all classes.
  • Eco Group
  • Pupil Buddies
  • P6 Junior Road Safety Officers;
  • A whole-community Equalities Group (with pupil, staff and parent involvement);
  • Rights Respecting Schools pupil group.

All children at Frogston also enjoy continual opportunities to lead their own learning through exploratory, play-based learning and child-led teaching and learning practices. We are continuing to develop to develop pupil voice as a key feature of teaching and learning and the wider life of the school.
